Identity is a process in constant motion; it is not fixed but is continually shaped by social, economic, and political factors. Identity is forged between people and the land they inhabit, linked to places through bonds that create a sense of belonging. The territory becomes an area of exchange where a society's worldview takes shape, shared through mechanisms that do not require personal contact, such as language, music, food, territory, culture, or art.
La Buena Tierra is my way of expressing, through the theme of the Silk Road, how this historic route fostered a shared identity across various territories. It was not just a channel for trading goods, but also for exchanging art, culture, knowledge, friendship, and brotherhood. This reflection extends to my perspective as a Latin American: we are also deeply connected to the land, to agriculture, to exchange, and to the bonds of brotherhood within our region. Just like the merchants of the Silk Road, we too belong to the mountains and the soil, which has shaped our identity and given us a sense of belonging as we maintain our territory.
At the same time, these elements connect us with cultures and ways of thinking far removed from our own region, creating a continuous flow of exchange. This process is ever-changing, much like how music today brings us together to share, coexist, and learn from one another.
