[Cl. Tpt. Perc. Pno. Cb.]
Mounting Flange is the name given to a mechanical part that consists of the union of a ring used to connect different parts of an industrial machine. Just like this piece in this unusual ensemble, the trumpet has an almost camouflaged soloist function, where it interconnects the rest of the ensemble with sonorities, rhythms, and melodies, driving the other instrumentalists to follow it until eventually, each one begins to be independent.
I am very intrigued by the theme of machines and their functioning, as their simple sound when working alone produces a sensation of internal music to the rhythm of each one. This piece would be like a machine in action as a whole, carrying its own production rhythm. In each sound, I reflect that sense of heaviness and power that they have. It is also worth mentioning that each note, rhythm, or melody would be a part of this machine: a screw, a plate, a rotor, etc.
