Ágrafos refers to someone or something that is incapable of writing or does not know how to do so. In ancient times, the earliest peoples and civilizations expressed their ideas, thoughts, and everything significant to them through cave paintings, sculptures, and symbols, among many other forms of expression.
Ágrafos is a piece born from intense introspection and an aesthetic exploration of language based on my own thoughts and emotions. It reflects all that I have seen and experienced in recent times: the inability to speak, to communicate, to feel, and to truly live; the confinement and solitude. Being confined, I could not help but feel the growing distance from others—the inability to speak, to express myself beyond a screen. This led me to realize that we share a certain kinship with the ancient ágrafos.
In this composition, I portray the emotional journey that each individual might have undergone in solitude during confinement, shifting through various feelings and swings of emotion and color. The piece culminates in total chaos, where everything bursts and is released, creating a massive surge of energy that leads to a cathartic conclusion.
